The AgWatchers Podcast

Podcasts are a great way of keeping yourself entertained and informed when travelling or working.

The founders of EP3 have been running a podcast called AgWatchers for four years now, which we haven’t included on the EP3 website until now. After meeting people a few weeks ago who hadn’t put two and two together, that AgWatchers and Episode 3 were the same people, we decided we will bundle both together a little more.

We release regular podcasts every week, which at the moment come in three flavours:

AgWatchers+

This is a fortnightly podcast where Matt and Andrew discuss what the ag markets are doing, with a focus on Australia. These generally cover sheep, cattle and grain markets.

These podcasts provide an independent view of the market and are supported by a financial contribution from AuctionsPlus.

Zeitgeist

On alternate weeks from the AgWatchers+ podcast, we provide the zeitgeist podcast. These zeitgeist podcasts provide a very quick update on some of the main things hitting the ag news.

Matt and Andrew will pick a separate news item each to discuss and one shared news item. We then discuss what has been happening and give some views on the topic. We will sometimes get other guests on to chat with us.

Chit-Chat

There are some great stories in agriculture and rural areas. We have brought on many people throughout the agricultural supply chain to have a chat.

Our conversations are a relaxed chat about a particular topic of interest. We’ve had everyone from politicians to sports stars on the podcast.

It’s an open platform, and if you are keen to come on or have an idea for a guest, reach out to us by clicking here

Episode 252 - Making it rain, Unhappy growers and supermarket competition

In this podcast, released on the 24th September 2024, we have our second Zeitgeist podcast, where we pick out some major news items in the agricultural space.

The discussion was varied, with a chat about an old news article (see here) about allegations of a hoax related to the sale of rainfall. We also chat about a recent survey which showed that vegetable farmers were unhappy with their place and considering quitting (see here) and finally we chat about the investigations into the supermarkets and alleged misconduct (see here)
